Opus awarded CFU contract

Opus Maxim Ltd has recently secured a contract, worth in the region of £2 million, to supply a skid mounted Compact Flotation Unit (CFU) to Petrofac - the international oil & gas facilities service provider - for the Heather platform, owned by Lundin Britain Limited, and located in the UK Sector of the Northern North Sea.

This is the third such contract for Opus Maxim - which is based in Guildford - following similar orders for CFU packages from Wood Group (for Amerada Hess) and Maersk Olie og Gas in the past two years.

Opus Maxim's core activity is the enhancement of separation and produced water facilities. As part of the contract, the firm has applied its own extensive expertise in fluid process systems as well as utilising the test facilities and technology of sister company Opus Plus, based at Flotta, Orkney.

Nigel Weir, managing director of Opus Maxim, said: "We are very pleased to have been awarded this contract following what was an extremely rigorous and detailed evaluation process, which included extensive performance testing at our Flotta facilities."
