Opus Maxim Awarded Breakthrough Middle Eastern Contract

04.12.2007

Opus Maxim will provide the process design and internals for nine suction scrubber vessels to the National Petroleum Construction Corporation (NPCC) of Abu Dhabi for new platforms in the Maersk Oil Qatar AS operated Al Shaheen Field development.

The contract is the first of its kind for Opus in the Middle East and will comprise the delivery next month of the internals for three each of low, intermediate and high-pressure vessels.

Peter Randall, Opus Maxim, project manager, said he was very pleased to have been awarded this exciting contract, amid stiff competition from other bidders.

He said: “This project is a significant milestone for us as it represents the first such order from the Middle East. It is also proof that our profile and business reach extends far beyond our traditional North Sea markets.

“We are delighted to have been awarded this particular contract, which I hope will pave the way for future work in the Middle East and in other international regions."
